2020 Fashion x Illustration “Fashion, An Encounter with Art”
Fashion is a mirror of the contemporary cultural trend, reflecting people's assertions about the definition of beauty and self-image. This exhibition attempts to invite the public to appreciate, observe and reflect on the relationship between fashion and ourselves that is closely related through fashion themed artworks and green fashion trends combining the concept of environmental protection and new technologies.
Located in the earliest developed area of Taipei City, Nanhai Cultural Park, where the exhibition is launched, stands proudly in the wave of time with its unique fusion of Oriental palace-style architecture and neoclassical style. The fashion industry, which has always given people the impression of new trends, also has to deconstruct, integrate, innovate and recreate again and again based on classics and traditional culture to construct people's imagination of beauty.
Nanhai Cultural Park has been standing in its classic posture like a giant for over sixty years, and quietly witnessed the changes of the times. The trends of fashion come and go like tides. After countless times of beating, scouring and polishing, how many pearls and jades in the tides of fashion can remain, becoming an invincible classic to spread forever and seen by the world?
This special exhibition of "Fashion, An Encounter with Art" tells us about the culture and history, brings together contemporary fashion artworks from different countries. It allows people to fully appreciate the brilliant sparks aroused by the conflict and integration between classics and modern, which complement each other and create special meanings.
